Research Associate II - Preclinical Translation

Position Overview: 

 

As a Research Associate II on the Preclinical Translation team, you will play a central role in assessing the safety and efficacy of our groundbreaking treatments. Your expertise will shape development of clinically relevant disease models through execution of GLP preclinical studies. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge cell therapies while thriving in a collaborative and innovative environment.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the development of preclinical studies defining product safety, efficacy, dose, and mechanism of action. 

  • Perform basic cell characterization techniques including ddPCR, flow cytometry, ELISA, and potency assays. 

  • Hands-on support of animal studies, including IP injection and blood and organ collection. 

  • Operate analytic equipment and instruments and contribute to their upkeep and maintenance. 

  • Actively contribute to workplace safety and related policies, including taking on available roles within the organization to ensure compliance. 

  • Conduct wet lab work, and assist with data analysis. 

  • Culture, differentiate, and bank pluripotent stem cells. 

  • Prepare common reagents, buffers, and consumables. 

  • Follow and review standard operating procedures. 

  • Collaborate closely within and across teams and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, scientific rigor, respect, and trust.

Qualifications: 
​

  • MSc or BSc (with 2+ years of relative experience) in Biological Sciences, Stem Cell Biology, Pharmacy, Bioengineering or a related field. 

  • Expertise at cultivating, differentiating, characterizing, and banking human iPSCs and derivatives without antibiotics. 

  • Hands on experience with in vivo rodent models, including drug administration and surgical procedures. 

  • Hands on experience in independently executing analytics (flow cytometry, ddPCR, and ELISAs). 

  • Analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to troubleshoot and solve problems, as well as proactively identify risks and propose mitigation solutions.  

  • Previous exposure to cell therapy developing and/or developing in vitro and in vivo models and/or performing preclinical studies is highly desirable. 

  • Demonstrated understanding of analytical thinking skills. 

  • Good written and verbal communication skills. 

  • Well organized with efficient time management skills.
