Scientist I/II - Analytical Development

​

Position Overview: 

As a Scientist I/II in the Analytical Development (AD) team, you will play a vital role in characterizing and ensuring the quality of our innovative therapies. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, you'll contribute to the development, validation, and execution of analytical methods critical for evaluating cell therapy products. Your expertise in analytical techniques will be pivotal in guiding decision-making, driving process optimization, and ensuring regulatory compliance.

 

Key Responsibilities: 

 

  • Design and implement analytical methods and potency assays for the characterization of cell therapy products, including those based on flow cytometry, ELISA, qPCR, and digital PCR. 

  • Collaborate with other functional teams to facilitate technology transfers and implementation of relevant analytical methods from research to clinical stages. 

  • Perform hands-on experiments to assess product quality attributes, potency, and safety using a range of analytical techniques. 

  • Analyze and interpret complex analytical data, generating reports and contributing insights to multidisciplinary teams. 

  • Author and review SOPs. 

  • Contribute to the validation and verification of analytical methods in accordance with regulatory guidelines. 

  • Stay abreast of industry advancements and emerging technologies in analytical development for cell therapy. 

  • Mentor junior team members and foster a culture of scientific excellence within the Analytical Development team. 

  • Actively contribute to workplace safety and related policies, including taking on available roles within the organization to ensure compliance.  

  • Maintain a focus on continuous improvement and refinement of the team’s workflows.    
     

Qualifications: 
 

  • PhD or MSc in Biochemistry, Cell Biology, Analytical Chemistry, or related field. 

  • For Scientist I: PhD or MSc degree with 4+ years of relevant experience in analytical method development, ideally in cell therapy. 

  • For Scientist II: PhD with 2+ years or Master’s degree with 5+ years of relevant experience in analytical method development, ideally in cell therapy. 

  • Accomplished record of planning and designing experiments, making key contributions to the execution of wet lab work, and data analysis and interpretation. 

  • Proficiency in a variety of analytical techniques including flow cytometry, ELISA, qPCR, digital PCR, and potency assays. 

  • Experience in designing, validating, and executing analytical methods for characterizing cell therapy products. 

  • Core competency in using data and statistical methods to solve problems, and the ability to present data effectively. 

  • Familiarity with DoE and Quality by Design (QbD) principles. 

  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze data, identify trends, and propose effective solutions. 

  • Familiarity with regulatory guidelines pertaining to analytical development in cell therapy (FDA, EMA, etc.). 

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to facilitate effective collaboration.
