Scientist I - R&D

​

Position Overview: 

 

As a Scientist I on the R&D team, you will play a central role in new discoveries and pipeline development. This role involves both hands-on experimental work and significant contributions to project planning and strategy. You will be at the forefront of research in cell therapy, particularly focusing on innovative solutions for complex medical challenges.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct advanced scientific research projects with a focus on cell therapy, tissue engineering, and regenerative medicine.

  • Develop and optimize protocols for cell culture, differentiation, and characterization.

  • Perform basic cell characterization techniques including qPCR, flow cytometry, ELISA, and potency assays.

  • Hands-on execution of animal studies, including IP injection, laparotomy and other surgical procedures, blood, and organ collection.

  • Design and execute complex experiments, analyze data, and interpret results.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Preclinical, Process & Analytical Development, and Regulatory teams to ensure the translation of bench research to clinical applications.

  • Stay updated with the latest scientific advancements and technologies in the field of cell therapy and regenerative medicine.

  • Present findings at internal meetings and scientific conferences, and contribute to the writing of scientific papers, reports, and grant applications.

  • Contribute to the intellectual property portfolio of the company through innovative discoveries and patent applications.

  • Mentor and supervise junior scientists and research associates, fostering a collaborative and productive laboratory environment.

  • Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, scientific rigor, respect, and trust.

Qualifications: 
 

  • Ph.D. in Biological Sciences, Stem Cell Biology, Pharmacy, or Bioengineering.

  • Demonstrated success designing and executing experiments resulting in key scientific contributions.

  • Effective use of statistical methods for data analysis, interpretation, and presentation.

  • Previous exposure to cell therapy development is highly desirable.

  • Proficient at cultivating, differentiating, and characterizing human iPSCs and derivatives.

  • Background developing in vitro and in vivo models.

  • Experience with in vivo rodent models, including drug administration and surgical procedures.

  • Solid analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to effectively troubleshoot and solve problems, as well as proactively identify risks and propose mitigation solutions.

  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience presenting data sets to an audience with multidisciplinary backgrounds.

  • Enthusiasm for learning new techniques and a commitment to scientific excellence.
